Extremely tolerant of dry, rocky sites and subsoil conditions, therefore useful for direct seeding on hostile sites such as mining and roadside revegetation projects.

Under-utilised compared to some better known acacias. Very showy in flower and relatively long-lived compared to many acacias. The silvery-hairy seed pods are very attractive. Compact form and tolerates pruning.
