Values/uses

  -revegetation/habitat    values

Can be the dominant understorey plant in sites with seasonal waterlogging. Excellent habitat for ground-dwelling birds and mammals. A very useful species for revegetation of riparian and other seasonally wet sites, its robust form and fast growth enable this species to compete against exotic grssses far more effectively than many native grass species.

  -amenity/ornamental     values

A robust grass that deserves to be used more in gardens and amenity plantings. Its upright form provides strong vertical accent and its pinkish-green feathery inflorescences are very attractive.
