Description

Small upright shrub to 1.5m high. There are two subspecies: subsp. rhombifolia and subsp. concolor. The former subsp. has larger leaflets and the plant istelf is also a little larger. Diversity Native Seeds can supply both susbpecies.

Sometimes a dominant understorey shrub forming thick stands. Regenerates from basal shoots as well as seed following fire. Nitrogen fixer. Seeds popular with native pigeons.

Both subspecies are attractive shrubs with interesting foliage. Tolerance of severe pruning is useful.

  -economic/functional     values

An underutilised species in revegetation projects, it is easy to establish fire direct seeding, grows rapidly and is long lived.
