major projectsDiversity Native Seeds is a major supplier of native seeds for revegetation projects in NSW. Current projects include seed supply for the Hunter Expressway near Newcastle and for various mines in the Hunter Valley, Gunnedah basin and Western NSW. For the Hunter Expressway project we were commissioned by the RTA to review contract specifications for species selection and seed sourcing, with a particular focus on genetic quality issues. We are currently assisting Rio Tinto Coal and Allied in their efforts to comply with new regulatory requirements for mine site rehabilitation, focusing on matching species selection and seed availability with the various vegetation types affected by the mines. We have also assisted Whitehaven Coal in the establishment of a direct seeding trial and Peak Hill Gold Mines in the development of a seed sourcing and direct seeding strategy. |
